Sapphire has launched the PURE X870A WiFi 7, an ATX motherboard built around AMD's X870 chipset and socket AM5. While Sapphire is best known for graphics cards, the PURE X870A shows the company continuing to invest in enthusiast desktop platforms, this time moving into a higher-tier chipset segment that puts modern connectivity front and center. The board supports AMD Ryzen desktop processors across the 7000, 8000, and 9000 series, keeping it broadly compatible with current AM5 builds and upgrades. On the memory side, Sapphire lists four DDR5 DIMM slots in a dual-channel configuration, with support for up to 256 GB total capacity. The company also advertises DDR5-8400 overclocking capability, which aligns with what we've been seeing from higher-end AM5 boards that are designed to handle faster memory kits and tighter tuning-though final results will still depend heavily on the CPU's memory controller and the chosen DIMMs.
