Fractal Design Epoch XL Tested

Review of the Fractal Design Epoch XL chassis. Fractal Design's Epoch XL is positioned as a mid-tower chassis that targets builders who require generous internal space without moving into full-tower territory. The case supports a wide range of hardware configurations, from compact systems to high-end gaming or workstation builds, and emphasizes airflow-focused design combined with practical assembly features. Its structural layout and clearance specifications indicate an intent to accommodate current and next-generation components with minimal compromise. Cooling capability is central to the Epoch XL's design. Out of the box, the case includes three 140 mm Momentum fans, providing a baseline airflow configuration suitable for mid- to high-power systems. Users can expand this setup to a maximum of five 140 mm fans or seven 120 mm fans, allowing flexible tuning between airflow and acoustics. For liquid cooling users, the chassis supports large radiators up to 360 mm in either the front or top locations, enabling support for high thermal output CPUs and GPUs in custom or all-in-one liquid cooling loops.
