Review of the Toshiba X300 8TB Desktop PC Hard Drive. During the test period, the drive has performed great and we could note the read/write speeds matching the N300 8TB, with the same amount of cache; the N300 10TB drive is performing better all-around, thanks to the higher density and doubled cache. Since we are talking about a 7200RPM drive, the operating noise is higher in both IDLE and seek operations versus the P300 series, but this becomes a non-issue when the drive functions inside a computer case.
