MALIBAL makes a lot of claims about their hardware; we decided to see if the company's laptops could measure up. Founded in 2004, MALIBAL is a relatively new contender, but six years in business is more than enough time to work any early kinks out of the system. Physically the X7200 is an absolute beast. Its muted styling and minimal decoration streamline its shape even as the sheer bulk of the system demands attention. The metal body is satisfyingly solid and smooth to the touch; the X7200's physical architecture exudes confidence. If notebooks were animals, this one would be a panther, its design a beautiful merging of form and function. At least, that's how it looks. As it turned out, the X7200 is a panther without claws and perhaps a gimpy leg, but there's no denying that the machine is gorgeous.
