Review of the MSI X79 Big Bang XPower II. MSI launched their Big Bang XPower II motherboard, we review and test it. A military themed motherboard for which they took the Intel Sandy Bridge-E chipset called X79, then they started designing a motherboard that will knock you of your feet once you place your first glimpse on it. The board is marketed as the perfect solution for extreme overclockers and gamers. Powered by Intel's X79 chipset, the XPower II obviously is intended for Sandy Bridge-E processors and features a 22-phase PWM design with Hybrid Digital Power for an output of up to 770 W, Military Class III components, dual 8-pin CPU power connectors, and a good seven PCI-Express x16 four being PCIe 3.0 slots enabling 4-way SLI or Quad CrossFireX GPU setups.
