Review of the Intel Core Ultra 5 250K and 7 270K Plus processor. Intel is not done with its Core Ultra 200S desktop platform just yet. With the arrival of the new Core Ultra 200S Plus series, the company is taking its existing enthusiast desktop foundation and trying to sharpen it in all the areas that matter most to the high-end DIY crowd: gaming, multicore throughput, memory support, and platform maturity. The two headline parts, the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, are positioned as more aggressive, refined evolutions of the existing 265K and 245K. Rather than replacing the platform outright, Intel is attempting to stretch its legs further with more cores, a substantial die-to-die frequency uplift, and a software-side performance layer it clearly sees as a cornerstone of its next enthusiast push.
